Butchered Tapestries
And Wild Wonder
We've come so far, stopped looking back
Sometimes I wonder where we're at
Promises in song, a life lived long ago
What meaning they hold
We may never know
The battles of the past
Play muted in the background
The soft, gentle surrenders
Made without a sound
The promise of forever
Somewhere in-between were found
Caught in a time of unsure maybe's
Loving wounded, bearing butchered tapestries
Far from a time when someone called me baby
Wild wonder drags us from our rest
Holding pieces gently to my chest
Telling a tale no-one will know
Reaping harvests that I didn't sew
A lifetime lived in veiled shadow
In vague memories, I suppose
Spinning circles, moving forward
Waiting for our just rewards

Bitter experiences: Telling a tale no-one will know Reaping harvests that I didn't sew A lifetime lived in veiled shadow
To paraphrase Flower, "I'll call you Baby if you want me to, I don't mind." A bit too forward? Not to mention unwanted. (Not even my wife wants me calling her Baby, lol.) Probably so. Still, you should have someone in your life using terms of endearment that melt your heart, make you weak in the knees & are wholly true to you.
Marvelous work!
