Bury Me

Bind Me To You

I want to bury myself in you

Hollow ribcage casket

Fresh tilled Earth from torn flesh

Planting the seed of my soul

In the garden it yearns for,

But they sink me out of reach.

The tears have not yet dried

On the mahogany of your coffin,

And I,

Two feet from you in my cedar tomb,

Can taste the salt of them

Embalming your last moments.

The overcast sky is blinding

In the shadow of my grief.

If I had breath left in me,

It would be yours.

If there were colours left to squander in the palette of my eyes,

They would only paint pictures of you.

I have only ever seen purpose in the calligraphy of your silhouette,

Yet here I am,

Here we are,

Waiting for the roots of future trees to bring us together once more.
