Burning the candle at both ends is sometimes beneficial - it builds resilience and makes one more thorough.

However, it can also mean unnecessary stress, wasted time and the spoiling of relationships.

Burnt ends

Lets the candle

Last a little longer

And burn somewhat brighter

Than most

Burnt ends

Means the candle

Has finished burning

Leaving nothing but a droplet

of wax

Burnt ends

A sad, true sign

That you've spent the entire

Night plugging at something that yields

No fruit

Burnt ends

Can mean that what

Was put together during

The night comes to complete

Coda

Burnt Ends

Can mean that the

Person you have spent time

With may not appear in life

Again.
