Buried Alive

Left for dead

By HannahPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

I have always wondered if people could see

that each human is like a teeny-tiny seed.

Full of potential and life abundantly,

a tiny little seed who’s purpose is asleep.

Often times, it seems we’re buried alive

Left in the dark, tucked away from the light.

I have always pondered if many people know,

When we’re buried by life, it’s so we can grow.

A seed is actually dead ‘til it’s put in the dirt.

A human must be buried to grow and show their worth.

It’s an uncommon thing to know that this life

is visibly precious but must grow out of sight.

A human can seem lifeless for years and years

Til one day they’re buried and watered with tears.

Then up from the dirt a new sprout starts to grow

And out of that person new life starts to flow.

Out of the safety of the darkness and dirt,

the opportunity to grow also means potential to be hurt.

Into the blazing sunshine and open with a wild breeze,

the human life purpose begins to grow like a tree.

And in time you’ll see it leaves

behind forests of stories and legacy.

In the end we’re all planted, handpicked to sow.

We’re all left for dead, buried alive so we can actually grow.
