The bully of my family
Is gone from my life.
I look around to see you,
But you are nowhere in sight.
You left me bruised and in pain,
And all for your gain,
As the cop said you were laughing
When they took you away.
No more hurt.
No more cries.
I am finally free from your lies.
Memories fade like the night.
My heart starts to mend.
Thought I would crumble without you,
But I am finally finding my end.
Now the silence is a song,
It echoes where you do not belong.
There is strength in every scar I see.
Your shadow’s no match for me.
No more hurt. No more cries.
I’m finally free from your lies.
Bruised and broken, I rise.
No more darkness.
No more ties.

I wrote this poem many years ago after a domestic violence breakup of a fallen angelic romance turned into pain and darkness. I found solace in music as I have always done my entire life. I created a song of how I felt after the incident and the partner was out of my life forever. I worked on the music and instruments through SUNO. Copyright 2024
