Broken Hearts
How could someone so broken be so beautiful?
By Princess ButtercupPublished 8 years ago • 1 min read

She came downstairs
In her beige coat,
A woolen scarf trailing behind her.
How could someone so broken be so beautiful?
Those with broken hearts should be stamped as such —A mark of fragility so others know to keep their distance, to treat with care, to tread lightly to ensure they don't shatter the manufactured happy exterior before them,
Despair hidden behind a perfect smile and shiny hair.
It's profound — to look upon someone that is in the same place you were years ago — to see your own image reflected on them and hear words you once thought spoken directly from their lips.
Life is just one long vicious cycle and we are all trapped in the vortex.

My writing should say it all. I hope. If not, bring me some tea and let's chat.
