One day, I remember losing myself

My feelings were broken

When I went through my things

I found the drawings that I kept

The ones I planned to give to you long ago

They were just there, lying in my hands

For a minute, it was like time had stopped

Memories of us flashed through my mind

A single tear flows down my cheek

And dampens my shirt

Even a second, in that moment

I ripped them all without a care in the world

I kept tearing and tearing and tearing

Until my hands became numb

Pieces of torn paper scattered around

I stared at them in silence for a while

Until I lifted my gaze up at the moon

Such a beautiful but lonely light

Shining brightly in the darkness

Much like you, so close yet so far

I can’t reach you anymore

I open my mouth to speak

But only a cracked whisper let out,

“Why do I have a broken heart?”
