Broken Dreams' Strings
Crushed aspirations and the tug of control
By laiba tabassumPublished 3 years ago • 1 min read

"Amidst the books, where words found their nooks."
Every dream shattered as he said
"No, you can't, you can't"
But I heard different perhaps
"Stop dreaming, do nothing
But entirely what I say"
perchance felt like a marionette.
Strings pulled and limbs moved
"I danced to his tune"
But my heart still longed
For the dreams that he doomed
"Every day felt like a cage
Trapped in his puppetry"
But I held on to hope
For a chance to break free
