Breath Takes

Abstract poetry

By Cathrine Birch Published 4 years ago 1 min read

It was the final hour

Stuck in a fever dream

The clouds already struck and had showered

Walking along the streams

Shadows along the wake

Shallow my heart, breaths take

I turned and stumbled on my feet

You’d been following behind me all along

What blinding light you bring me

A blessing and challenge, it’s so strong

Shadows along the wake

Shallow my heart, breaths take

In that moment I found my future staring

With wide foreign eyes holding mine

What a lucky pairing

I’d never thought to find

Shadows along the wake

Shallow my heart, breaths take.
