Bonds of slavery, chains of pain

Echoes of the past, cries in vain

A history stained with blood and tears

A legacy of oppression and fear

Men and women torn from home

Forced to labor, forced to roam

Their bodies used, their spirits broken

Their lives forever altered, forever stolen

But hope still blooms, in the darkest night

For freedom's fire, burns ever bright

And though the road ahead may be long

Equality and justice, will one day belong

To all the enslaved, who fought and died

We honor your memory, and will not be denied

The right to live, to love, to be free

For all humanity, equality will be.
