BRAND NEW TWO FEET
In the dead of night, amongst these streets
If you sleep here, you feel defeat
But a former failure returns, with brand new two
feet
Clean clothed and sober, no longer beat
He has a home, a job and a title
He wears shoes and what’s more, a new smile
So why of a night, does he roam these streets?
Risking getting dirt, on his brand new two feet
Once it was in search, of a man from before
One of many he met, when he walked through the door
A man who started, to take certain steps
But went back out, and fell even more
A man who sadly, was in search of a yet
As he hadn’t quite reached, his rock bottom yet
There are many levels, upon the descent down
But how far do you wish, to go underground?
His friend has gone, it seems so far
He can no longer be seen, on the radar
So why does this man, with his brand new two feet
Continue of a night, to roam these streets?
Why does he come to us, with midnight treats?
Sandwiches biscuits, and sometimes sweets?
Why does this man, do freely these deeds?
It helps him stay grateful, for his brand new two feet
