BRAIN INJURY, ME?

Mountains can be Moved, when we Understand...

They looked at me funny

Like they did not understand

Neither of us knew what to do,

Unchartered land

It was no one’s fault,

Accidents happen

We wish it worked,

Injured through chance’s assassin

Feeling funny one minute

On top of the world the next,

Crashing to the bottom

Suddenly less than seconds, hex!

Unseen injury

They call it “invisible",

No bleeding or hemorrhaging

So I must be fine at all.

I sound like me, look like it too,

Sometimes even match what the eyes do see...

But,

Waving on the seas

Crashing in whirlpools,

Sucked chokingly under

Then spat out like a fool!

Darkness overtakes

Fighting for my life,

Inner hell upon hell

Though I look just fine!

“Crazy,” they think,

“Attention seeker?” they wonder,

“Exaggerating, perhaps?” they try and make it clear.

For how can one look okay now and yet not so fast?

How could anything unseen be so tumultuous and last?

How can something be so bad,

When so often what we see is a human that looks the same??

No sense to this name!

No rhyme to this game!

No!--confusing fame!

Tick-tock

Tick-tock

The rhythm of the clock

My heart beats,

Pounds in my ears--

Sound & Light, beats & rhythms, Deafening Fears!

Fighting off the tears!

Pushing away the pain--

Do I today, even remember my name?

Inconsistency

No matter what we see

Nature of brain injury.

Need for Great LOVE, Compassion, SPREADING AWARENESS—

For A Promising Tomorrow

Healing Great Sorrow

For All we do not and cannot see--

For Me, for You, for Our Youth!

For THRIVING and WELLBEING--

Let us understand to See--

For ALL invisible wounds & Invisible Injuries...
