the feeling in your chest
tightening
when you love someone so much it hurts
stomach churning
knowing they don’t feel the same
it's a different type of hurt
lungs gasping
an ache
it's the kind that leaves you awake at night
eyes wide open
raspy breathing
knowing as soon as you close them
the memories are just going to flood back
its a different kind of pain
not stabbing; rather dull
but it lingers
oh, how it lingers
truly, if i'm being honest
it never goes away
you-
the smell
the taste
the memories
of you
will never go away

I took my son and niece to Gori, a small town in Georgia where Joseph Stalin was born. They talked me into visiting the Stalin's Museum, the largest in the post-Soviet space. I had resisted going there because I just can't stand the monster and know enough about him, or so I thought.
