Bottles of you
A poem about the beauty of parenting

I wish I could bottle up my memories.
I would keep them on a shelf in my room, my own personal collection
Every day I would pull one out
Re- live the sound of your giggles echoing the halls
The pitter patter of your feet against the hard wood floor
The way your face looked when you woke up
Eyelids heavy
A soft smile
The bottles on my wall glow with happiness, casting hues of gold across the room
And sometimes I would just sit in that
happiness
And I do
Because those bottles are stored in the walls of my heart
Casting gold hues throughout my life
