Boom boom. My heart explodes from my chest, and my lungs turn to concrete. Dark fog rolls around my bare feet which tread cautiously forward, numb from the cold snowy ground beneath. Boom boom. Wind howls through the trees which loom above me. The shadows of their empty branches stretch towards the sky like arms reaching desperately towards the heavens for an escape. Boom boom. Shadows dart across my vision, and my head jolts violently to the left, following these, but I see nothing. Boom boom. My pace quickens when a twig snaps loudly several feet behind me. Boom boom. I begin to run. Boom boom. Boom boom. Suddenly the ground slips away from me and I'm falling down, deeper and deeper. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. And then, boom boom, all at once, boom boom, there is nothing.
