Bones of Strength, Flesh of Sacrifice
Finding the Balance Between Selflessness and Self-Preservation
By mureed hussainPublished 12 months ago • 1 min read

Self-sacrifice without inner change leaves selfishness intact.
You can offer your flesh, your time, your care,
Yet be called selfish for bones you won’t share.
Flesh may mend, and energy renew,
But bones are the essence of what makes you, you.
In giving, there’s grace, a beauty so pure,
Yet holding your core is what helps you endure.
Selflessness shines, but there’s wisdom to see,
That strength lies in balance—being whole and free.
Our bones are the anchors of who we become,
To share our love doesn’t mean giving up some.
