Blurry
a poem about the in-between - poetry challenge entry
Caught in the moment before eyes open
The world is silent and unspoken
There's a shred of dream left inside
I can almost touch it as worlds collide
The soft rims of the fantasy world
Tricking me as my mind swirls
Is he really here next to me?
I feel warmth, but I sense it’s the dream
Being caught in this in-between
Visions of real and fantasy
It's where I can pretend things aren’t what they seem
Where I can be whatever I long to be
Before the light of day takes over
Before the real world makes me sober
I kiss his face and taste his lips
It may not be real, but I relish this bliss
These visions get blurry as I try to hold on
Forever is for dreams, by day you'll be gone

Such a lovely feeling before reality , right before you really wake up. Lovely poem.
It sure is blissful before reality hits. This was so poignant and beautifully written. Loved your poem! I've followed you on Instagram hehehe
