Caught in the moment before eyes open

The world is silent and unspoken

There's a shred of dream left inside

I can almost touch it as worlds collide

The soft rims of the fantasy world

Tricking me as my mind swirls

Is he really here next to me?

I feel warmth, but I sense it’s the dream

Being caught in this in-between

Visions of real and fantasy

It's where I can pretend things aren’t what they seem

Where I can be whatever I long to be

Before the light of day takes over

Before the real world makes me sober

I kiss his face and taste his lips

It may not be real, but I relish this bliss

These visions get blurry as I try to hold on

Forever is for dreams, by day you'll be gone

Such a lovely feeling before reality , right before you really wake up. Lovely poem.

  • It sure is blissful before reality hits. This was so poignant and beautifully written. Loved your poem! I've followed you on Instagram hehehe
