Blue Imagination

by: Heather Mitchell Manheim

By Heather Mitchell ManheimPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

When I was little

I would cover myself

And dive

Immerse myself

In my blue bed.

Blue Fame.

Blue Pillows.

Blue Sheets.

Blue Blanket.

It became my playground

Suddenly and

Instantly

I became a deep-sea diver

A bird in the sky

A pilot in an air-force fighter

Or an astronaut floating through a twilight sky

Those colors,

Baby blue to cobalt

Surrounded

And with my imagination

Hand in hand

Mind to focus

Made

A magical playground

An improv

A reprieve from boredom

An enchanted ice kingdom

That surrounded

And provided

A backdrop

For my visualized fantasies

My creative thought and

Originality

That helped me escape from

Reality.
