Mother's dress is blue,
She got it from dear grandma.
But I only wear red.
In this haiku dress is a metaphor for domestic traditions and values. They are usually passed from generation to generation, and are being cherished for centuries. However, children that are brought into this world, have completely different and unique identities, and one can not always expect them to live up to their family's legacy. They might not have the same beliefs, tastes, hobbies, and dreams. And while it is extremely important to respect the values of your family, all of us are free to decide our own fate. Just like the narrator, who chose a red dress over a blue one.

Blue sea
So deep is blue sea. So many reach for the fish, I reach for its peace. Sometimes we find happieness where others wouldn't even look. The dark blue sea symbolizes the wisdom, that we can only get by counquering waves of everyday struggle, life battles, and chores. Sometimes you might feel like you are drowning, but it's never the right way to give up and float back. Those who reach the bottom will get all the pearls, and precious gifts lift has to offer. Therefore, while some people get only basics from life (fish), others will dive dipper and work harder to get real treasures.
