Blue Did Not Stand Still
The stages of my struggle coming out in Mississippi.
Violet showed up to the party unannounced
Filling my head, she came and went floating lifeless as if she didn’t make a dent in this world
She flirted with my ego, challenging it to stand alone
I crumbled at the thought
Solitude
Indigo introduced as chaos voicing a low and untamed growl in the pit of my stomach
Stirring back and forth eyeing the prey with a twinkle in an emerald eye that did not relent
Blue
Blue did not stand still
Blue hovered
Blue didn’t want to recover
Blue was silently violent
Green demanded to be the spectacle on the stage
Boasting wildly and untamed next to artists clenching naked brushes begging for a dip into warmer climates
Testing a tight-wire barefoot in the dark
Dimming the stoplight on an empty space
Yellow tiptoed into the darkness
Making a dent into first base
Orange grounded the chaos
Suffocating solitude
Red hunted the hunter
No longer the prey
I told Blue to stand still
