Blue Crow

At last

“Blue crow

They always said

That you were black

Blue crow

Dancing along midnight bodies

You were the last

By offset numbers

And there’s always another

But it’s snowing inside

So come to me

Blue crow

I hope you know life tasted sweet

Before winter showed it’s face

Far before we met in gaze

Blue crow

Young rivers overflowed with tears of joy

And sin

Thirsted for a drink from within

The platter of amusement

Drunk on drowning

Blue crow

They always said

That you were black

Black as the sun I suppose

Blue crow

You have stained eyes

And mangled feathers

As if you’d not seen

The night

Terrified, first time

If you were black,

I’d not recognize the warmth

And the freezing might seep in

It only takes a minute

Blue crow

They always said

That you were black

I drifted away to a warm place

While it was snowing inside

This is your stop

For the night

All of your delicate colors

And others

Come to me

Blue crow

They always said

That you were black”
