BLUE

How special was the day we met? I saw,

Your eyes! So bright, so blue!

For they engraved a precious place in my heart,

The day that I met you.

And reflected in those eyes I could see;

The sky above so blue.

That reflection revealed so much to me…

And showed me what was true.

I would sing “You are my Sunshine” with tears,

And chills of icy blue,

Because buried within my heart of hearts;

Was deep truth of what I knew.

YOU were like a colour in a rainbow!

Your aura shone bright, bright blue!

You lived, you laughed, you loved – without judgement!

You brought joy to all you knew.

Your heart had no place for judgement or shame;

Even when it was blue!

‘Love is love’ was all it had known, even when

Those around you had no clue.

As I’d expected that fateful day came;

Saddened heart - FILLED with blue

And even though I’d known all along,

T’was like I’d been torn in two.

Most days are grey, but your light shines! The way

Christmas lights twinkle blue...

Sounds of your laughter echo in my mind;

As if it’s right on cue.

Emotions come and go for me. Just like

Waves of the ocean blue.

But as my grief starts to loosen its grip,

My sadness becomes slightly subdued.

Your spirit shines so bright to me! It’s an,

Eternal shade of blue!

As your spirit walks with me, it dispels

The lies of things untrue!

So now I know the colour of pure love!

It’s bright and beautiful blue!

Its’ thread is what sews the truth of life;

Together…stronger than glue.
