Blue

The other side of color

By Anna GuistPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
Blue sky contrast the delighted yellow

You’re only as important as going viral.

The only thing I’ve spread, are my tendencies to spiral.

I’m infected with blue. A color that carries with it many hues.

I’m funny for my friends but I cry when I’m alone. I’m many shades but blue I wear the most.

Cold as the sea, yet bright as day.

Gentle as the clouds, yet irrational as the waves.

I’m blue though my cheeks are blushed. Blood runs warm enough to keep me rushed;

All around, distracted by life itself, she keeps me warm.

I don’t know how to navigate her frightening streets, I am deeply torn.

A stream flows its waters, a pond stagnant.

I dream of flowing too, reality is only a fragment.

It’s many troubles, it’s colors too.

It’s nature and lack there of remind me that everything is blue.

You forget, our earth belongs to the sky and the sea.

So what good will fame do me.

I am small. A speck. Practically dust.

How interesting that some days I can muster the actual feeling of love.

Blue and her depths, layers, and complication.

And enigma shrouded in shades of procrastination.
