Blossom

A poem of sudden thoughts one afternoon

Blossom

Oh glory, glory, glory

I’m free at last

I have waited so long

And now I’m finally free

Free to wear whatever colours I want to

And to paint me in whatever mood it is,

I’m free to write this poem

And to read it out loud

I’m free to walk it my way

And to talk about it with whoever it might be

I’m free to jump it, to dance it, to rave it, to scream it

I’m free to live it in full blossom

Oh, blossom is the word

For my life now is like a flower,

Rising above the dark grey soil of my past

A colorless jail

And for my future

Well, that I hold in the dearest accounts

For the new freedom in my life shone great colours in my soul

Oh, and what a power it has, I can feel it already

Glory, glory, glory
