Leaves, fallen on the ground
Now painted with frost's first shroud
Empty branches bowing down
Under Winter's icy embrace
I enjoyed Autumn's beauty too late
Seasons fly swiftly. They never wait
Winter's gray suddenly dies in the meadows
Bringing sunny explosions in haphazard rows
Spring silently slips away while my head is turned
Leaving me to wonder where the lilacs have gone
Summer's sizzle catches me by surprise
Browning the grass and baking the sky
Distracted by the lazy dance of the fireflies
Before I know it, Fall turns the green leaves amber
Apples fall, pumpkins and goblins appear
To remind us that the icy grip of winter is near

Apples fall pumpkins and goblins appear. The cycle of seasons. Nicely Done!!!
This was soooo beautifully penned! Loved your poem!
Come-On Grams - Cold~Caught your Saucy-Tongue..! Came late for Thanksgiving yesterday and only thing left were Turkey 🐾Feet. They convinced me that even Chicken 👣 Feet are a fought over treat in some cultures; Including Canada. But - Nah- not for me even slathered with ‘Dinners Disguise’ ketchup on them! How true, how true. It is the cycle of life. Great work.
Goodness, Tina! This is gorgeous and so much truth to it. I feel I always wait too long to enjoy...because...life and stuff...inevitably gets in the way!
Beautifully written.
