Writing about writer's block

Staring at a blank screen and an empty page

One day those lines will be full

like the thoughts swimming in my head

I don't understand why anyone

would want to lie about being assaulted

If someone tells me they are a victim of abuse

I am always compelled to believe them

Even if they later retract what they say

And throw all their hatred at me

I reported it because it did not sit right with me

to be silent whilst being scared of who would be next

They threaten to press charges against me

But they can't because I have proof

of what was said and I thought I was doing the right thing

And if I did land in jail, people would support me

But at least in my journal, there is no judgement or consequences

sad poetry

So sad, I just wish the best for that person who retracted their statement about being abused. I find writing as therapy something too.
