Blank canvas

You can't fix mistakes before you make them.

The canvas is blank.

With clouds of destiny

in the horizon cast.

With nothing from the past.

***

I wanted to use it,

to paint something beautiful.

With colorful streaks

of the hope it seeks.

***

I wanted to build it,

To form a destiny.

of a goal I set

and will never foget.

***

But what interfered

is something invasive.

it's a feeling of meer,

simple fear.

***

And there it sat,

my lone blank canvas,

awaiting in silence

for my hands' compliance.

***

But this terrible fear

wriggled its way

Through to me

till it's all I can see.

***

And so stayed my canvas

so perfectly white,

the paint going dry

till the day I die.

***

I wanted to end my poem here but the hopelessness was far too intense, so here you go; one more stansa of damage control...

***

But I hope that one day

I will awaken,

And find the faint

courage to paint!
