Blackness

Fearless

By Aly JonesPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Our bodies are consumed in light

My thoughts however are darkness

We are feared for our blackness

The very thing they wish to take away

Is why we pray our men come home safe

The irony so many strive for looks like ours

From lip fillers to box braids

I see culture appropriation

But will they be there when our men dont come home safe

See while our thought may have darkness

God has already covered us in light

So no we don’t fear our blackness

Do you?
