Black pearl
Original poetry by Akilkuumba K.

Black pearl
What if I told you
My heart was full of hate?
As if cutting my skin
My blood so thick with sin
Bubbled like boiling tar
Escaping the filthiest chamber of hell
Causing my labored breath to resemble smoke
So Toxic even I often choke
The way it burns the eyes and throat
Is only sinister
An autopsy of me
Reveals festering wound
Filled to burst with maggots
Centipedes crawl between each rib
A sea urchin jammed beneath my diaphragm
Makes my speech deliberate
Dissect me
And at my core
You will find emptiness
But also, a pearl
Both empty and endless
The soul of a poet
Empty and Endless
The soul of a poet
A perfect reflection
Crystalline canvas
For a world of wonder
Like water
With a tranquil demeanor
To disguise the void
To hide this woe
I wear a mask
A gentleman and a scholar
A Black cat in necktie
And hat.
About the Creator
Empty Poetry and Verse
Empty and Endless The Heart Of a Poet.
