Black

Our skin absorbs light and radiates beauty

The white of our teeth contrasts our deeply shaded skin

Like pearls they exude elegance

Our eyes strongly pierce like stars against the backdrop of the night sky

Our bodies span a range of diverse shapes and curves - bending and twisting as they please

Each uniquely beautiful

Our hair stands proudly in opposition to gravity

We don’t conform, we don’t bow.

We stand proudly in the truth that we are powerful

Formed from atoms like those that connect to make the sun

We are the same, though we are different.

We are integral, we are one.

When we are mistreated the universe is not aligned

When we are divided we betray our core design

To view our own beauty is to see our true selves

To embrace our full identity is to embrace our race as well

inspirational
