Black Box Theatre

We were but actors on a stage, waiting.

By Samantha KaszasPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Breathless in the black box theatre,

Room 705.

We were but actors on a stage, waiting

for the part of a lifetime

at least that's how we had arrived

stars in our eyes, dreaming of fame

but fate had plans beyond a winning role

rather, it was our constellations that collided.

Love,

a gift from Eros

was what laid in store.

Your sea-blue eyes crashed

with my forest-green

my vision dazed by stars

reality regarded

as your form stood aglow

shining, in the close dark room.

My feet floated forward

not of my own accord

but pushed on by something beyond

beyond me

beyond this black box theatre

and suddenly I was before you

my hand in yours

professing my love for the universe

to hear

the words that came out of my mouth

were, hello.

.

I had travelled to the city on the sea

seeking a career built in lights

instead, I found a love

made of stardust.
