Black Bird Saga

Good Bye My Black Bird

By ME ClarkPublished 4 years ago 1 min read
The blackbird flew the nest

There's no place big enough for me

I've got nowhere to run or hide

No safe place as far as I can see

No love or positivity I can abide.

When sorrow takes its mighty hold

Wreaks a havoc on my cold heart

Ice and pain squeeze my very soul

Tiny spaces breaking me so far apart.

Restraints that hold me down,

Locked into those dark, tiny spaces

Can't breathe from the seeds I've sown,

There's no large open lights places.

My blood pounds through open veins

Breath falls short in my lungs

That anger bursts into my heart saying

The oppressive pain of words unsung.

The blackbird sits on my windowpane

Refusing to fly, the message clear.

One blackbird for sorrow and pain,

I sit back and accept his end is near.
