Black & White
I am described as white
What does it mean?
My skin colour is lighter than yours
If you are called “black”.
Does it matter what is my skin colour?
Does it matter what is your skin colour?
We are all human beings.
What do we see when we attach meaning
To the colour of your skin?
Do we make assumption about where are you coming from
Do we make assumptions about your culture
Do we make assumption about your abilities and who you are
And what you can be.
Please stop looking at me by the colour of my skin
Stop judging me about my ethnicity
And just see me in all my light
And Almighty of my being
And treat me as you would treat yourself
Start creating a rainbow of all colours
Acting like a bridge in the sky of prejudice
And injustice
That can become equality and justice
And social change
In this world where every life matters
No matter what is the skin colour.
Love is infinite
We are all the same
Red is the colour of our blood
We all can ride the blackness of pain,
The fear that is hard to disappear
Amidst the ocean of sorrow and injustice
Let’s not be part of the shame
Let’s stop looking at black & white
And allow the light of hope
to appear in the sky becoming serene and blue
with true spirit of wonderness
of astonishment
for the purity of our souls.
Let’s take action today
And never surrender to the colour
Of prejudice
But treat everyone with kindness,
compassion and equality
No matter what colour do you see
Just reach for the rainbow of victory.
