Beyond Material Dreams: A Father's Legacy
The poem tells the story of a son and his poor father, who is on his deathbed. Despite the father's financial struggles, he imparts valuable advice to his son in his final moments, encouraging him to never give up and persevere through life's challenges. The son realizes that though he may not have material riches, he has his father's love, strength, and legacy to carry with him always.

In the arms of his father, a son did lay
As the old man's body slowly began to fade away
The son felt the weight of the world on his chest
For he knew he was losing the one who knew him best
The father had worked hard all his life
But fate had not been kind, causing him much strife
The son wished he could have done more
To ease his father's burdens and keep him ashore
Yet in his last moments, the father whispered to his son
"Never give up, even when the battles can't be won"
"For though I may not leave you wealth or fame
I give you my strength, my courage, and my name"
The son heard his father's words, and in them found hope
For he knew that he could persevere, and climb the steepest slope
And though he may not have riches to his name
He had his father's love, and his spirit's flame
So to all sons with poor fathers, hear this advice:
Cherish every moment, for they are truly priceless
And though your father may not be a man of means
He has something greater to offer, beyond all material dreams.
