Beware Innocent Daughter

Uncomfortable but Honest Warnings to Protect My Daughter

By Jesse LeePublished 15 days ago Updated 13 days ago 1 min read

Young woman that’s funny and unsure,

awkward, lanky, undeveloped, demure.

Hides behind her long hair curled forward.

Your allure is the thing that men adore.

Beware of men that see what you can be,

and try to insert themselves before you see,

content under pressure you contain

a perfect soul, heart, and brain.

Scenic views ahead of what he perceived,

Learning in session how to proceed

with caution, and you can achieve

No limits to the love you will receive.

Do not yield though insecure.

Test your boundaries while staying pure.

In time you will find

your mind is sublime.

Additional reminders include:

You’re shrewd, not prude.

Be safe. Be rude.

When in fear. Keep hands clear.

Encounter a bully. Exit only.

Failure to comply with these warnings signs

may lead to intense moments of a self denial.

Instead live your life happy and freed

But always with caution please proceed. 🫶🏼 💚

Jesse Lee

Poems and essays about faith, failure, love, and whatever’s still twitching after the dust settles. Dark humor, emotional shrapnel, occasional clarity, always painfully honest.
