Between Heaven

And Earth

By Colleen WaltersPublished 8 months ago Updated 8 months ago 1 min read
"Redeemer" Paul Cardall

You reach down

I hold on tight

And I rise, past the stars

into the blue

with no horizon

I freefall

through the air, my lungs

Breathing in star dust

the ground far

below, the brightest

colors sing in my

mind,

my longing heart

taps a steady

rhythm, weightlessness

covers me like a

warm blanket, nothing matters

just the sound of

angels sighing, sound

waves stretching

like translucent bands

across the universe,

wispy tendrils of Light

surround my soul,

caressing, singing

bringing breath

into my earthen body

replacing these clay feet

with wings

my prismatic spirit

somersaulting across

the vast blueness

my soul soars

where angels sing

when we fly unfettered

between dimensions

heart ignites

and burns

to essence

of self.

A dreamy poem of soaring through the stars, feeling weightless and free with angels—truly magical

This description of the experience is pretty vivid. It makes me think of that feeling when you're on a really intense rollercoaster. The part about breathing in star dust is cool. I wonder what inspired you to write this. Also, how did you come up with the idea of sound waves stretching like bands across the universe? It's a unique and interesting concept.
