Best Friend's Bracelet

Sometimes we focus on meaningless things to skip over trauma.

You broke my best friend's bracelet

That I wasn't supposed to have.

She got it for her sweet 16...

I think from her dad?

It doesn't matter.

The precious beads are scattered.

I begged her "please,

My outfit needs an accessory!"

And she gave in to me too,

Unlike I did for you.

You grabbed me rough

And pressed your luck.

I did what I was taught:

I used the cute acronym S.T. O. P.

Only you wouldn't let me "promptly leave"

I was trapped, you were my only ride.

I was scared and you decided to capitalize.

And I rose to face it--

I lost.

AND you broke my best friend's bracelet.
