Beside Still Waters
Be Anxious For Nothing
By Earl W. PearlPublished 8 months ago • Updated 8 months ago • 1 min read

Monday my eggs were runny, the next, they’re overcooked
The mundane is such a struggle, blessings are overlooked
This life is so oppressive, so filled with meaningless “crimes”
We shun the things of importance, pennies replacing our dimes
Worried of all things minor, the crucial is now the accursed
Forgetting a lifelong lesson, “Keeping the first things first”
Often the things that concern us, never even appear
And those that bother to come to pass, aren’t even that severe
About the Creator

I’ve been writing poetry (rhyming mostly) since about 2014 and have recently transitioned to writing novels and short stories. My poetry genres are faith, humor, social issues, politics, pretty much any subject matter.
