This is what lies
Beneath those brown eyes,
When the light
Touches their surface:
Pools of sweet Honey
Mines of warm Amber
Fountains of godly Nectar
Fields of enriched Earth
Coins of pure Gold
Swatches of shined Leather
Swirls of glossy Caramel
Orbs of polished Mahogany
Truffles of tempered Chocolate
Stones of smooth Obsidian.
The sights of one’s soul
Seen only through
A Brown iris-window,
Shuttered by clear fibrous tunic.
Let the light shine
In those brown eyes;
See what beauty
Lies beneath them.
