When I believed,

My heart danced to his melody,

His rich brown eyes would guarantee,

A trip far from reality.

When I still believed.

When I believed,

His movements seemed to tantalize.

He held me hostage with his eyes.

Each gesture, I’d romanticize.

When I still believed.

When I believed.

His soothing touch could calm my soul.

His arms around me made me whole.

To earn his love became my goal.

When I still believed.

When I believed

I watched him walking through my door,

And knew what I was living for,

But I was always wanting more,

When I still believed.

Then my hopes were swept away,

No-one to convince.

There was nothing left to say,

Just a horse without a prince.

When I believed,

His gentle voice could take me there,

To a place without a care,

Like a circus or a fair,

When I still believed.

When I believed

I tried so hard to win the prize,

but found my thoughts were merely lies.

I just saw music in his eyes,

Then I could not believe.
