Being Present
A poem about living in the present and letting go of your ego
Living in the present - now's the time,
no past regrets, no hills to climb.
No weight of karma, no yesterday's chains,
just life unfolding, as love remains.
Let my heart shine, light the way,
step ahead - embrace today.
The present calls, so pure, so bright,
a gift to me, a world alight.
No need to chase what lies ahead,
the present is where my soul is fed.
Breathe it in, let worries cease,
here and now, we live in peace.
Forget the past, let it go,
no need to dwell on what I know.
Live for today, let worries fade,
let my heart expand, unafraid.
Let my heart be soft, unchained,
no ego left to keep me restrained.
I see it lift, like birds in flight,
carried away in golden light.
The past and ego, shadows cast,
whispers fading, lost at last.
Release them now - let my soul ignite,
bathed in love, in endless light.
Nothing chases my world ahead,
the present is where my soul is fed.
I breathe life in, worries cease,
here and now, I live in peace.
Letting go of the past will not hurt your soul, but guide it away into a precious day. Let your heart be guided, let your ego leave your soul, a positive life without an ego is needed. Your ego should be no more, let it go by visualizing it flying away from your body, out and up into the sky. Ego and past are nothing but negativity flowing through your mind, so let it go. Life can shine in your heart like a glistening enlightenment, visualize a bright white light flowing around and inside of you like nothing you ever imagined. It can heal you from everything that you’ve been through. Watch Eckhart Tolle’s video to gain clarification.
I also read Eckhart Tolle’s book A New Earth which gave me peace and enlightenment. It was an inspiring read, reading the book uplifted me in a way unimaginable giving me peace and joy. It can be like that for you too.

Even by reading your poem I experienced a sense of peace. I loved it!
Wonderfully healing for the moment, but what happens to both individuality & community if being present in the moment does not allow for a reckoning with the past (particularly those we have harmed), nor hope for the future? Do we not simply dissolve into the all-encompassing "we" that is?
Wonderful and spiritual.
Beautifully flows with poetic sounds.
Lovely sedating poem.
So beautiful. I read this and it gave me a happy glowing feeling.
Such a peaceful poem <3
