Being gay
Isn’t necessarily feeling gay
I feel human, I feel real
I feel color, I feel still
Being gay
Isn’t rainbows and unicorns
I feel judged, I feel hate
I get angry, I feel irate
Being gay
Isn’t what you think
But the colors bring light
The colors bring a tribe together to fight
A wavelength of colors coming as one
Beaming light from the Earth’s sun
Being gay
Isn’t rainbows
But I feel like one
I feel like color floods from my veins
And indigo drips off me as it rains
That I am a morning glory, evening glory, glory of God
And that is
Being Gay.
