There is someone I want to be,

But I can’t let anyone else see.

A deeper look into the real me,

I must keep it under lock and key.

_______________________________

Deep inside the girl façade,

My true self will always fade.

Buried not by a simple spade,

Or anything else manmade.

_______________________________

Behind a mask of acceptability,

I hide myself under femininity.

Unable to present masculinity,

Live under a cloak of deniability.

_______________________________

Keeping myself super quiet,

Too scared to even truly try it,

Constantly learning to be silent,

These feelings are much too giant.

_______________________________

Deep within this stiff face,

A person I can’t truly erase.

Myself I hope to soon embrace,

When I am allowed the space.
