Behind The Scenes

Behind the scenes, behind the mask, behind closed doors, behind the covers of even the least assuming books, everyone... -Everyone is fighting their own battle.

behind the scenes

a script written in such a fashion that it's true meaning is hardly seen

a collection of books in such a vicious assortment

cries for help masked in disguise

what lies behind colorless eyes

is a mind chained in torment

what lies behind a smile-less face

is a heart left in the blistering cold,

turned to stone

at the root of wishes for bliss-like freedom

is a life of abiding agony

days of dolor and distress were no one's choice

is it not each and all of us who seek peace?

who is it that stands and knocks at the door of suffering?

i say again,

these tales of torment are telltale signs of exactly what they tell

this stage is set only for judgement,

in front of a crowd of critics

under lights that blind with angst

what the public calls selfish

contains nothing of the sort when concerning self

behind the scenes,

and behind the mask

grayscaled eyes show what she's seen,

an expressionless face mirrors a horrifying scene‐

scores across his feet show where he's been,

nothing short of worst case scenarios and then‐ some

what goes on in those walls,

is nothing short of torment and then‐ some

behind the scenes

behind the mask

when the lights go out

and all doors are shut

behind the cover of the least assuming books,

lie the greatest stories‐

tells of torment and diaries of war

libraries that read aloud screams from beneath the floor

silence may stand up on stage,

but pages of plagues take their place behind the scenes

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
