.

I began to start beginning

At the ending of the middle…

And in the middle of beginning,

I began to stop a little.

.

For if the middle ended

And I began to start the ending,

What would happen when the ending’s

Ending was beginning?

.

And what then when the ending

Was in the middle of its end?

What if I regretted

What I’d started to begin?

.

So I began to stop the start

Of my beginning then,

And suddenly I found myself

In a place I’d always been.

.

This place was filled with all Withouts—

With only idle talking;

And I began to wonder

Why I ever started stopping.

.

I saw that I got nothing

For the nothing I was risking.

That’s the moment I quit stopping

And I began Beginning.
