Before the Curtains Close

Forged Confessions Twisted by the Tip of a Tongue

A hopeless romantic, with symptoms of panic,

When the curtains start to close. Life's little lessons,

Keep on keeping me guessing. If there is anything else,

I’ve been more convinced of, I don’t know.

But my mind is decaying as I wonder if I’m worth saving,

Getting tired of waiting to hear yes or no.

If it’s not worth saying that we're not staying,

I think it’s time you let me go.

Because I’m ready for next, to never settle for less, and

Pull my heart out, as it beats from my chest,

with words strong enough to carry my own weight,

Plus an additional amount that would make people shake,

forged by confessions, and twisted by the tip of my tongue,

When I’m living the dreams of everyone

Who swore on everything,

That one day,

They would make it out.
