Before she was queen

She was a little girl

With little girl dreams

A well known face

Born into royalty

But there was something

Deeper too

A passion for the people.

Before she was queen

She played as little girls do

Learned and grew

As little girls do

Experienced life’s

Joys and pains.

Before she was a queen

She was a daughter

A granddaughter

Sister and cousin

Spending time with

Family

Whispering girlhood

Dreams.

Before she was queen

She stood up

And stood out

A woman of her

Time

And ahead of

Her time,

Her majesty

A Princess

Before a queen.

She stood out

Found her place

Showed the world

Beauty and grace.
