They tell you to keep going

Keep pushing forward

Things will get better you just need to get back on the horse

It is much easier said than done

They do not see how hard it is to keep moving forward

Last time it took everything you had for you to get back up

Just to have you knocked right back down

They do not see the pain you are in

The agony you feel every time you fall off that horse

It feels as though you are being crushed

The weight of every fall becomes more and more to bear

How many more times do I have to keep falling

How many more trials do I have to endure

How much more pain do I have to feel

“Just try again”

“It never hurts to take a chance”

“One more time”

Whoever says these has never understood what it is like to put everything on the line over and over, only to have it thrown back in your face time and time again

Yet here I am

Getting back up on the horse

Cut and bleeding, with my broken bones and broken spirit

Just to be knocked down all over again
