Beach Bay Day
Ice-cream licking tongues waiting for a drip to drop

Diamantes sparkle, dapple and dance
Across the magical sea-scaped bay
Surfers catching a wave, curling
Living the dream on a hazy summer’s day
Cool dudes, ripped bodies, slick-backed hair
VW vans line the slipway; music thumps
Children play, dogs pant attentive to their owners’
Ice-cream licking tongues waiting for a drip to drop
In the blazing heat of the afternoon sun
An English summer’s day seared into our memories
Forever, as we entwine on the harsh, concrete breakwater
Feeling the sun kiss our skin, tingling in the salty sea air
Relishing and drinking in, the sandy beach bay day
