Be You
Who Cares What They Think

It would appear we care too much
What others tend to think
Of things we’ll say and do and such
That causes us to shrink
It’s more important one should fit
Inside of one’s own skin
We’re only bound as we permit
Don’t let your critics win
You’ve been afraid to do new things
And many never try
So go ahead and spread your wings
That’s LIFE that’s passing by
It’s usually in one’s latter days
One finally sees the light
To put aside these petty ways
And fight a different fight
Now what’s the message, what’s it mean
It means don’t waste the years
So dance as tho you dance unseen
And sing like no one hears

You have a very nice writing style.
Here, here! I'm always up for encouraging people to be their own unique selves.
Now if only we have the belief in ourselves to actually do it. A great concept and I hope many of us listen to the these wonderful words.
What a great poem - you are right! Who cares? I don’t care - like me, or not🤷♀️👏👏
This is soooo true! Screw what others think! As long as we don't hurt or harm others, we shouldn't hesitate to do what we love!
Bravo to "And fight a different fight"
Very true!
